Each piece has a penny of the current year embedded in it. This is to date the work and to honor my late farther in law, Gerry Labbe, who started the practice in 1935. He was a master woodworking and I can only hope to be one tenth as good as he was.
I would also like to honor my Grandfather, Jim Compton, as a master cabinet maker, who instilled in me the love of wood.
